Overview

Nestled in the heart of Northcliffe, Naughty Noodle Bar serves up an inviting fusion of home-style comfort and vibrant local flavors. Located at 11 Wheatley Coast Rd, this charming spot is much more than a noodle joint—it’s a warm refuge for hikers, locals, and travellers alike, thanks largely to the welcoming spirit of its sole proprietor, Penny.

The menu captures a curious balance between heartiness and whimsy, with dishes like the signature Beef Broth Noodles and Spring Vegetables Stir Fry with Chilli Beetroot Pickle standing alongside inventive breakfast options such as the Vegan Brekky and Veggy Brekky. For those travelling with little ones, the Quicky Noodles for Kids provide a thoughtful, tasty choice. Desserts like the Mud Cake with Coffee Caramel and a range of ice cream treats offer a sweet finish, particularly on warmer days when soft serve is available.

The dining experience here unfolds in an eclectic, homely space that feels more like Penny’s own kitchen than a commercial venue. It’s that authenticity and personal touch that resonate deeply with guests, especially hikers tackling the Bibbulmun Track, who find Naughty Noodle Bar a much-needed haven. The ‘hikers box’ filled with shared goodies is a wonderful testament to the spirit of community Penny fosters.

Feedback from visitors is unanimous in praising the genuine hospitality and the unpretentious yet exceptional cooking. Sophie French appreciated the comforting warmth of the ham and cheese toasties on a rainy afternoon, while others like Kim Ellis and LessTrodden Path recall feeling truly cared for during unexpected visits or chilly arrivals, often when other establishments had shut for the day.

Food is prepared fresh with locally sourced ingredients, supporting the region and ensuring each bite bursts with flavor and care. The coffee, praised highly by many, rounds off the meal with a perfect brew, whether it’s a classic barista coffee or a specialty like the affogato.

In essence, Naughty Noodle Bar is an unassuming but indispensable gem in the South West. It’s a place where hearty noodle bowls and comforting breakfasts meet an unforgettable sense of welcome. If you find yourself passing through Northcliffe, especially if you're hiking or exploring the area, this is the spot to stop, linger, and feel at home.

Stopped to see if there was anything we could grab and go and were offered the most delicious ham and cheese toasties - perfect for a cold and rainy afternoon! We'll be stopping in for the noodles on the way back to Perth because they smelled and looked absolutely delicious. The owner is so lovely, really friendly and fun to chat to - great vibe at the whole place, can't wait to come back.

We had a fabulous stay with Penny at the Naughty Noodle Bar! She made us feel so at home. We were so cold after riding into Northcliffe from the Munda Biddi. The temperature was dropping fast and all the shops and eateries were closed after 4pm. The nearest was 2 km away and NNB was closed because of a funeral the proprietor had to attend (a sign was written at the door). When we phoned a number written at the Telstra phone booth there was no answer, but a moment later a lady popped out and we were welcomed with "Did anyone call me? " The stay was warm and cosy. She served us ginger cake for tea and the breakfast was home made and delicious!! Keep smiling. Penny! Thank you, Penny!

What a joy to eat at the Naughty Noodle Bar (the NNB)! When I arrived at Northcliffe, everything was closed, even the NNB, but Pen saw me as she drove by. ‘Hey hiker’ she called and then proceeded to arrange breakfast and dinner for me! The food was great, and the breakfast coffee was perfect. Her cafe is eclectic and eccentric, but a joy to be in with a real homely feel. The NNB is really hiker focused, with accommodation and even a ‘hikers box’ full of goodies abandoned by passing hikers. I left some treasures as well. This is the go to spot for anyone hiking the Bibbulmun, and Pen is a treasure!

Absolutely wonderful food and the lady owner was so nice, accommodating and sweet. Popped in for lunch while exploring the South West and were delighted with this eclectic place. The food was freshly prepared with local produce and just hit the spot with the home cooking vibe. The owner was very welcoming and made my boy's hungry tantrum disappear with her fresh cooking and kindness. Would recommend a lunch anytime.

This place was an absolute highlight of the region! The food was excellent, especially the chicken burito. Highly recommend this unique experience! We had the pleasure of visiting this quirky and authentic small town gem. Upon passing through, we were drawn in by the name and stayed for the amazing vibes. The place is operated entirely by a singular woman and she does everything! The flavors and food from this unassuming place were absolutely amazing! And let's not forget the excellent coffee! Don't miss out on this hidden gem! Alex and Mike

We coincidentally came across this little restaurant and stopped by because we were hungry. It may sound cliche, but it felt like coming home. The food was fantastic, the owner was super nice and gave us good advice for our road trip, along with her husband. The prices were super reasonable. I got a free t shirt and I saw the owner giving someone a homegrown passion fruit. What can I say? Thank you!!!

Whether you love or hate this place really depends on your expectations — but anyone with a sense of curiosity should love it. If you’re looking for something genuinely unique and unexpected, this is it. I arrived with a group of middle-aged cycling mates from Queensland. Options in town were limited, but we found ourselves having dinner with Pen — and what an experience it was. She cooked great food and created a night we’ll all remember. Pen runs the whole show herself, and catering for ten hungry blokes in such a small space is no easy task, but she handled it well. She’s feisty and full of personality — ready for a lively debate if you touch on one of her favourite topics — so be prepared to bite your tongue and enjoy the ride. For me, that’s all part of the charm. Thanks, Pen — it was a pleasure to meet you.
